I thought I was weepy watching Hidden Figures. Upon further review, I didn't know shit. God Bless that man, and may his light shine as a human beacon of tolerance and love to the world.

As a mother of a son with schizophrenia, who is facing serious jail time for something he did while in psychosis, I'm hoping this movie emphasizes that people with this illness need to be treated in hospitals and not jails. I hope it brings awareness to that fact they they are still people in need of empathy. I hope it brings to light the need for further research to try to help these people instead of hiding them away and pretending they don't exist.
